The third team in the trade is the Minnesota Twins, who will get starting pitcher Kenta Maeda from the Dodgers.
The Twins will then send pitching prospect Brusdar Graterol to Boston.
Betts' Career
Last season with the Red Sox, Betts hit .295 with 29 home runs and 80 RBIs, while also leading the American League with 135 runs scored.
However, the Red Sox missed the playoffs.
In 2018, Betts led Boston to a World Series title and was named American League MVP.
Over the course of his career. Betts has hit .301 with a .893 OPS.
Since making his MLB debut in 2014, Betts has led the majors in runs scored and is second in extra-base hits.
Betts was set to become a free agent after the 2020 season.
Price With Red Sox
In 2019, Price went 7-5 with a 4.28 ERA with the Red Sox in 22 games started.
Overall in his Red Sox career, Price went 46-24 with a 3.84 ERA in four seasons.
He played a key role in helping the Red Sox win the World Series in 2018.
He is owed $96 million over the next three years.
