Hasbro Employees Travel to MA for Tornado Aid
Wednesday, June 29, 2011
The Hasbro crews helped the Salvation Army unload trucks of donated items such as food and new clothing, then helped sort and prepare them for distribution. Hasbro volunteers also will help administer a voucher program that will provide new furniture to families in need.
Toys never hurt
In addition to the ongoing volunteer support in Massachusetts, Hasbro also donated 500 toys and games to the Salvation Army. (Shortly after the tornado strikes on June 1, Hasbro contributed $100,000 to the Red Cross of Pioneer Valley for immediate aid.)
Supporting volunteerism
Hasbro, through its Team Hasbro program, gives employees four hours of paid time off each month to volunteer with organizations that serve children. In light of the tornado disaster, this benefit was extended to a full workday to allow Rhode Island employees help their neighbors in Massachusetts recover.
