Hasbro Hits the Fashion Runway

Tuesday, November 16, 2010

Models strut catwalk at the Veterans Memorial Auditorium in Providence during Hasbro’s 9th Annual Licensing Summit last week for more than 100 licensees from around the world. Attendees gathered for the two-day event that showcased looks that celebrate the Pawtucket-based toymaker’s core brands, including Transformers, Monopoly, Littlest Pet Shop and Nerf, plus more fashion and accessoories featuring Tonka and My Little Pony inspired fashions.

Blings and Rings

In a high energy style, models worked the runway in t-shirts, hoodies and accessories donning some of the most familiar images of Hasbro’s best loved brands, like babydoll t’s with a bejeweled Monopoly race car game token and the Monopoly Luxury Tax icon--the diamond ring. The looks showcased how the company’s brands

are able to connect with consumers far beyond a traditional toy. “Hasbro is working with highly creative apparel companies that have designed some amazing Hasbro-branded graphic and vintage tees that will appeal to both fashion- and value-conscious consumer,” said Bryony Bouyer, Hasbro’s Senior Vice President, Licensing, The Americas, “Lifestyle licensing is a priority in 2011 and we are excited about these items and how they showcase our brands.”

While some of the t-shirts featured on the runway (such as Monopoly) were from international licensees and will be available exclusively to European and Asian markets, the Tonka and My Little Pony fashions are available at 80sTees.com.
