Tolman Applauds Passage of Gun Bill

Friday, August 01, 2014

Warren Tolman

Democratic candidate for Attorney General Warren Tolman has released the following statement regarding the gun bill's passage in the Massachusetts Legislature.

"The compromise gun legislation headed to Gov. Patrick's desk takes pivotal steps toward strengthening our gun laws and keeping guns out of the wrong hands. With 51,000 deaths since the Newtown tragedy, this direct action will save lives with better tracking of guns, stronger discretion for our police chiefs, provisions to protect our schools, and important data collection on suicides," said Tolman.

I applaud our state legislature for their important work to find common-sense updates that will make our cities and towns safer. As Attorney General, I will be the strongest advocate to protect our communities from gun violence and I am ready to move our Commonwealth further by requiring smart gun technology on all new guns sold," continued Tolman.
