Worcester Police Arrest Two Men Following Drug Trafficking Investigation

Jose Nunez-Feliz, 25 of 183 Barfield Street, Providence, was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, malicious destruction of property over $1,200, resisting arrest, operating negligently so as to endanger, failure to stop for police, distribution of class A substance and trafficking in heroin over 200 grams.
Esmelin Fajardo, 33, of 11 Steuben Street, Providence, was charged with trafficking in heroin over 200 grams.
The Incident
According to Worcester Police, on January 30, 2020, officers observed one of the targets of the investigation, Feliz conduct a drug transaction in the vicinity of Fifth Avenue near Millbury Street. Officers followed Feliz to South Maxwell Court. An officer exited his vehicle and approached Feliz in his vehicle. Feliz accelerated his car in reverse. The officer ordered Feliz to stop. He ignored all commands continuing on at a high rate of speed.
Feliz smashed his vehicle into the side of a police cruiser. Mr. Feliz left the scene and proceeded to drive at a high rate of speed. His vehicle came to a rest after crashing into the rear of a building on Maxwell Street. Police approached the vehicle and were eventually able to apprehend Mr. Feliz. A search of the vehicle yielded 39 knotted baggies of heroin. Feliz was also in possession of 12 additional baggies of heroin in his pocket.
While conducting surveillance at 26 Jefferson Street officers observed a male later identified as Esmelin Fajardo enter the first-floor apartment and exit a short time later. As he noticed undercover police vehicles he began to run while holding an object in his pocket. Mr. Farjardo went behind a building on Jefferson Street and then reappeared. Officers stopped Farjardo and located 340 grams of heroin stashed behind the building.
Police obtained a search warrant for 26 Jefferson Street first floor apartment. As a result of the search of the apartment, officers located multiple bags of heroin, digital scales, paperwork, cash drug paraphernalia and other items indicative of drug trafficking.
As a result of the investigation officers seized more than 400 grams of heroin.
