Condit: Classic Fun for All, Live and In Color!

Wednesday, March 04, 2015

Before everyone loved "Raymond," everyone loved I Love Lucy, the Emmy Award winning series that was also voted the 'Best TV Show of All Time' in a survey conducted by ABC News and People Magazine.  This weekend is your chance to be a part of the audience in the brand-new hit stage show where you step back in time as Lucy, Ricky, Fred and Ethel prepare to film their hilarious antics and our charming host lets us in on some behind the scenes secrets when the Broadway touring cast performs at The Hanover Theatre.

If you’re like me, you get a kick out of retro ads, jingles, and the sweet humor of the 1950’s. I Love Lucy: Live On Stage delivers “an absolutely brilliant and utterly engaging tribute” to two of the iconic I Love Lucy episodes that we adore, according to L.A. Examiner’s Ron Irwin. Join the crazy redhead that ruled as America’s hysterical sweetheart as part of the studio audience this Friday through Sunday and see why TV Guide’s William Keck calls it “the most entertaining stage production I’ve seen in years…including Broadway!”

I had the pleasure of speaking with Kevin Remington, who plays the role of Fred Mertz in the national tour. Listen to how he connects with his character, as well as how he got started along with his advice for aspiring actors on The Hanover Theatre’s blog or tune in this Saturday to WCRN 830AM from 1-2pm to hear his interview on Behind the Scenes with The Hanover Theatre.

You may also want to check out the I Love Lucy Trivia Contest on Facebook for your chance to win four tickets to this Saturday's matinee performance. Hurry, though...the contest closes at midnight tonight!

I Love Lucy: Live On Stage!, generously sponsored by Commerce Bank, also offers ASL and enhanced audio descriptive services for select performances.  Audio Journal provides enhanced audio description for visually impaired patrons at the Sunday matinee, and ASL is available at the Sunday evening performance with 48 hours advance notice.  Get more details here.

Tickets start at just $33 (there are also member and WOO Card discounts), and are available online, by calling 877.571.SHOW (7469), or stop by the box office in downtown Worcester. So grab your friends, family, and anyone who is looking for fun this Friday through Sunday, and we’ll see you at the theatre!
