Becker Launches Master of Fine Arts in Interactive Media Program

Wednesday, November 08, 2017

Becker College has launched a new Master of Fine Arts in Interactive Media program.

The 60-credit Master of Fine Arts in Interactive Media will pull students in the world of game design and team-based design principles, equip them with the needed skills to design and develop media for interactive and serious game applications, and provide them with an industry-standard portfolio.

“As the explosive growth in the game industry fuels demand for job-ready talent, Becker College is leveraging its vast faculty expertise and innovative strengths to offer this new MFA in Interactive Media. This graduate program reflects Becker’s strong commitment to preparing students for the future of work, and cultivating adaptive learners with Agile Mindsets who can leverage an entrepreneurial outlook and thrive in a world that is increasingly volatile, complex, and ambiguous,” said Alan Ritacco, Dean of the School of Design and Technology.

Interactive Media Class

The cornerstone of the Interactive Media program is Advanced Game Studio work, in which the student, under the direction of experienced mentors, completes an original interactive media project based on their own personal skill sets and vision.

The program may be completed in two-years for students who hold a relevant BS/BA degree, or students who enroll in Becker College’s undergraduate Game and Interactive Media degree program can earn their bachelor’s and MFA degrees in a total of five years.

Courses will begin in the fall of 2018 with limited enrollment.
