BREAKING: Biden Closing in on Victory - PA & GA Turn Blue, Legal Battles Could Be Next

Friday, November 06, 2020

Former VP Joe Biden

The race for President could be decided on Friday -- barring court intervention.

Democratic Presidential nominee Joseph Biden edged ahead of President Donald Trump in Pennsylvania for the first time Friday, putting him on track to reach the 270 electoral votes needed to capture the presidency.

Biden leads Trump by 5,594 votes in Pennsylvania as of Friday morning, a difference of 0.1%. The remaining votes are expected to overwhelmingly break for Biden.

As of 7 AM, Biden had 264 electoral votes to Trump's 214, with five states -- Nevada, Georgia, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Nebraska -- still in play. Overnight, Georgia shifted from Trump to Biden and the majority of the remaining votes are in the Atlanta area and expected to go to Biden.

Either Georgia or Pennsylvania pushes Biden over the 270 electoral votes needed to lock the presidency

The Trump campaign has filed numerous lawsuits relating to the election and the President on Thursday night said the election is being stolen from him.

On Thursday, Biden appealed to his 13.7 million followers to contribute to his expected legal fight.

“Donald Trump is going to court to stop votes from being counted. We have assembled the largest election protection effort in history to fight back and need your help. Chip in to make sure every vote is counted," he Tweeted.

Latest Developments

Early Wednesday, Trump declared victory even as millions of votes were still being counted across multiple states, with Trump saying he would be going to the Supreme Court in an attempt to stop ballot counting.

Axios reported on Friday in "Biden Takes the Lead in Pennsylvania and Georgia:"

Joe Biden is closing in on the 270 electoral votes he needs to defeat President Trump, according to Associated Press projections, with the critical battleground states of Michigan and Wisconsin now called for Biden.

The latest: With those states and Arizona in Biden's column, one more — like Pennsylvania — would be enough to put him over the top even as the Trump campaign fights him with lawsuits and recounts.
